Situated by the sea on Hayling Island in Hampshire, Lakeside makes for a great seaside break, with a warm, friendly atmosphere that captures the heart of all who visit. The courtyard, café and bar at the heart of the village are all welcoming and there’s a pick of chalets, woodland lodges and harbour suites. 

As well as bars and nightly entertainment and dining, the property has a large fishing lake and an indoor bowls complex. It overlooks Chichester harbour with fantastic coastal walks on the doorstep, plus beautiful Arundel Castle and Portsmouth Harbour within reach for days out.

Hotel: Lakeside is a seaside chalet village on the east coast of Hayling Island. The cosy chalets are centred around a courtyard and village green, the ample seating creating a real sense of community. The Chichester Cabaret Diner and Piano Bar provide good food and all-day entertainment, while the spa, equipped with treatment rooms, manicure/pedicure stations and a 13-metre pool complete the relaxation experience.

Garden space: Includes 33 acres of grounds with gardens and quiet seating areas. Other highlights include the golf course, village green and fishing lake which won a Britain in Bloom award in 2021.

The Piano Bar: This lounge is just off the courtyard, next to the main reception. The room has a soft relaxing feel, woodland wallpaper meeting with maritime blues that tell of the hotel’s seafront location. It serves tasty lunches from 11am until 5pm and caters up to 150 guests at a time.

The Chichester Cabaret Diner: This restaurant/theatre sits off the courtyard, a central location within easy walk from any of the rooms. The stage is set in in the middle of the room, surrounded on three sides by tables, and lit with fairy lights and stage lights giving the whole room a rosy glow. It serves full English breakfasts and made-to-order dishes from 8am-10am, and buffet dinners with served-to-table specials from 6pm-8pm. Caters up to 420 guests.

Interesting facts:

  • The Spa includes a 13-metre pool, sauna, steam room, two manicure stations, two pedicure stations and two treatment rooms where guests can enjoy a range of treatments and makeup in partnership with Temple Spa, Jessica and Mii Cosmetics.
  • The Games Room is equipped with two full-sized billiards tables, two table tennis tables, an air hockey table, table football and darts.
  • The Lake greets the guests as they arrive with impressive water features and aquatic plants. Fishing and rod hire available (guests must bring their permits).
