Grant Harrold

A ‘royally’ good short break – you can now meet the Royal Butler on your next staycation!

Do you know your fish fork from your salad fork? Or the proper way to greet someone? A national hotel group is giving holidaymakers the chance to learn from the royal family’s right-hand man with new breaks from March this year.

Warner Hotels is partnering with renowned etiquette expert and former Royal Butler, Grant Harrold, to offer a series of unforgettable weekend getaways complete with comprehensive insights into how the other half live at 16 unique destinations across the UK.

As a prominent member of the royal household, the Butler’s career spans decades of duties to some of the most notable royals of the century, including King Charles III, Camilla Queen Consort, and the Prince and Princess of Wales to name a few. The etiquette expert will be running exclusive Q&A sessions and workshops – revealing an insider’s glimpse into what life is really like at Buckingham Palace.

Guests will then have the chance to tuck into a royally delicious afternoon tea and practice their newly polished skills with finger sandwiches, cakes, and scones topped off with a pot of tea – before the real test at their three-course evening meal, included in the price.

Alongside filling up on the etiquette expertise, guests will get to experience the joy of the great outdoors with a stroll through the garden and grounds, or beside the seaside, as well as enjoying blissful hours in the spa. Guests can try their hand at a new activity like archery or rifle shooting, and top everything off with a joyous evening of dancing to quality entertainment – all included within the price of the break.

Tony Roberts, Chief Commercial Officer at Warner Hotels, said: “‘We’re delighted to welcome none other than the Royal Butler himself to our 16 unique properties to give holidaymakers and royal superfans alike the answer to the perfect staycation.

“Our guests come to us time and time again for an all-encompassing joyous escape, so these weekend getaways are an exciting addition as we introduce new experiences that make our breaks more than just a holiday.

“We expect these weekends will fill up fast – so anyone wanting to secure a royally good break will have to do so quickly!”
