Adult-only hotel group lets children run riot in hilarious new TV ad
Leading adult-only hotel group Warner Hotels has left audiences wanting a kid-free holiday more than ever after revealing its new TV advert.
The new ad, ‘A kid-free break’, which premiered on screen on Boxing Day, takes a tongue-in-cheek approach to the hotel group’s core proposition to provide adults with a place to unwind – and instead shows children running riot in one of its most luxurious properties.
Viewers watch as children wreak complete havoc across Studley Castle in Warwickshire, – from storming unannounced into the sauna, to shooting play guns at dinner. The shots are set against the backdrop of opulent rooms, gorgeous grounds and a tranquil spa to create a humorous contrast between a peaceful get-away, and every parent’s holiday nightmare.
All the chaos is then revealed to be a ‘glitch’ at the end of the advert, and the peaceful tranquillity for which Warner’s hotels are renowned is restored, when viewers realise that the children were never really there at all.
The advert is a significant departure from the traditional Warner brand, and is the first stepping stone to a new era for the hotel group, which is set to undergo a transformative re-brand over the course of 2023.
Simon Thompson, managing director of Warner Hotels, said: “We had a lot of fun coming up with the concept for this TV advert, which is truly unlike anything we’ve ever done before – and the response so far has been fantastic!
“Of course, we all love our kids and grandkids, but our guests come to Warner to escape all the madness that family life can bring. Whether it be a day spent in the spa, indulging in delicious dining, exploring stunning acres of grounds or even trying something new with an adventurous outdoor activity – the choice is up to them.
“Our new advert is the just the first step into an exciting period of change, as we update and refresh the Warner brand.”
Ben da Costa, chief creative officer of creative agency, NOW, who produced the advert, added:
''I love my kids, but not other people’s when they’re kicking my plane seat. With families cooped up together, what better way to remind the adults that there is a place designed exclusively for them. An extreme imagining of what children at a Warner Hotel might be like.
“Thank you to our clients for going with us on this child-free rollercoaster. Our ad is funny, surreal and over-the-top, but at its heart it’s a film which showcases the beautiful Warner Hotels properties and the premium experience they offer to adult holidaymakers.”
The children also shared their experience of being part of the campaign, saying that they thoroughly enjoyed their time on set.
One of the children said: “It was so much fun meeting everyone and filming on the green screen – I’ve never seen anything like it before. Everyone was really friendly too, and one of the production team gave me some sweets which I loved!”
Another added: “I had the best time ever, and all of us felt really well looked after on the day – I felt relaxed and so excited to take part!”
