Stay in Blenheim Palace grandeur at the Cotswold’s newest hotel
Staycationers seeking historic opulence can now enjoy a slice of Blenheim Palace-style grandeur at the newest hotel in the Cotswolds.
Heythrop Park, the latest plush hotel to join adult-only hotel group Warner Leisure Hotel’s portfolio, opened for bookings in April following a £40m refurbishment.
With historical links to the infamous Blenheim Palace 15 minutes down the road, the stunning stately manor shares a similar Baroque design from 18th century architect Thomas Archer - marked by lavish curves and bold detail.
Yet unlike at Blenheim, here guests can eat, sleep and be entertained like a lord or lady in the look-a-like hotel, soaking up all the splendour of the national treasure.
The entire Heythrop estate has been beautifully remodelled to incorporate design elements which subtly reflect its history and the personalities who owned the property, resulting in a stunning blend of modernity and heritage.
Nestled among the 440-acre estate, which is rumoured to have design links to 18th century royal gardener Henry Wise, are quirky delights such as a ‘whale cave’ and a hidden waterfall for guests to discover.
Managing director of Warner Leisure Hotels, Simon Thompson, said: “We may be the self-confessed little sister of Blenheim Palace, but we’re proud to offer guests a taste of Blenheim grandeur – promising a first-class experience in beautiful Baroque surroundings, where modern style meets elegant heritage.
“Aside from being full of character and intrigue, Heythrop offers guests the perfect British escape - whether they’re looking to enjoy exhilarating activities such as archery or golf, relax in the spa, or explore local sights such as Jeremy Clarkson’s Diddly Squat Farm Shop.
“There’s so much to explore, not only on site but in the local area and we are in a great accessible location for guests new and existing to explore once we open in August. Bookings are now open and we’ve seen a lot of demand already - so we encourage prospective visitors to act fast if they want to be amongst the first to experience the opulent Heythrop experience!”
A two-night, dinner bed and breakfast break from 5 December 2022 at Heythrop Park Hotel costs from £189 per person sharing a standard room.
